Basketball Game Preview: Bennington Badgers vs. Gretna Dragons

The Bennington Badgers will take on the Gretna Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bennington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.

Bennington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Skutt Catholic, who was ranked third at the time (Bennington was ranked 13th). Bennington took a 52-36 bruising from Skutt Catholic on Tuesday. The Badgers have struggled against the SkyHawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Skylar Johnson, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Harper Bohaboj, who scored five points.

Meanwhile, Gretna lost to Norris at home by a 45-26 margin on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly 19 points.

Bennington's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Gretna, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Bennington beat Gretna 49-37 in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Does Bennington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gretna turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
