Basketball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

After flying high against Marion County last Saturday, Jasper came back down to earth. The Jasper Vikings came up short against the Cullman Bearcats on Monday, falling 68-42. The Vikings have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Cullman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-4.

Jasper and Cullman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Jasper (ranked 45th) will meet Fultondale (ranked 171st) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cullman will challenge Locust Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 103 places (16 vs. 119).
