Basketball Recap: White River's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

White River won the last time they faced Kent-Meridian and things went their way on Friday too. The White River Hornets came out on top against the Kent-Meridian Royals by a score of 61-50. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Royals are ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for White River and bumps their season record up to 14-5. As for Kent-Meridian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

White River will take on Federal Way at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. White River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Federal Way likes a good challenge. As for Kent-Meridian, they will square off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kent-Meridian is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
