Basketball Recap: South Lake Comes Up Short

South Lake played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 44-13 loss at the hands of the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.

When it comes to explaining why South Lake lost, don't look at Molly Burke. Despite the final result, she posted six points and six boards.

Mount Dora Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Doan, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sania Smith, who scored eight points and six steals.

South Lake's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.

South Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-14 defeat against Leesburg on the 28th. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-34 victory against Boone on the 27th.
