            Baseball Recap: Columbus Discoverers vs. Omaha Central Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Columbus ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Friday. They came out on top against the Omaha Central Eagles by a score of  10-7. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Discoverers.
 Karsten Killham looked comfortable as he  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He also put up a  walk, which was his first of the season.

 At the plate,  Quenton Gustafson was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his six plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Collin Rausch also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
Columbus picked up their first road  victory, bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Omaha Central, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 7-7.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbus will  face off against  rival Lincoln North Star  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. This will  be the Discoverers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Omaha Central is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Westview  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
