Softball Recap: Liberty Christian Has No Trouble Against Randolph Southern

Liberty Christian hadn't done well against Randolph Southern recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 16-10 win. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 10-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Anna Chappell was incredible, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Claire Callahan was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Liberty Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-7. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Randolph Southern, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian will head out to face off against Traders Point Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Randolph Southern, they will venture away from home to challenge Southern Wells at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
