Baseball Recap: St. John's Islanders vs. Cross Trojans
St. John had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Cross Trojans onto the board and left with a 25-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was just what St. John's needed coming off of a 14-4 defeat in their prior contest.
Casey Graham made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Graham was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.
In other batting news, St. John's got a massive performance out of Jake Bradley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Davis Crowley was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
St. John's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Cross, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's will take on Charleston Math & Science at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. John's is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Cross, they will head out on the road to challenge Stall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
