Baseball Recap: Catskill Takes a Loss

If Catskill was riding high fresh off their 15-9 takedown of Loudonville Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cats came up short against the Ichabod Crane Riders on Tuesday, falling 17-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cats of the 11-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Catskill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Cummings, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Leo Gottesman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

The defeat snapped Catskill's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record. As for Ichabod Crane, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Catskill will head out to challenge Chatham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ichabod Crane, they have already played their next match, a 7-1 victory against Troy on the 30th.
