Recap: Southlands Christian Eagles vs. Milken Wildcats
If The Southlands Christian Eagles were riding high off their 52-24 takedown of the Calvary Baptist Cougars last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southlands Christian was beaten by Milken 62-28 on Thursday. Southlands Christian was down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Milken's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Klein, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Omri Bisson-schweiger made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Southlands Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Milken, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Southlands Christian will head out on the road to face off against California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. California School for the Deaf-Riverside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southlands Christian in California (California School for the Deaf-Riverside is ranked 19th, while Southlands Christian is ranked 68th). As for Milken, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Malibu at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Malibu is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
