Basketball Recap: Quitman County Takes a Loss

Quitman County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miller County Pirates. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-10 back in December of 2024.

Miller County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Cratic, who posted 19 points and five steals. Cratic has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rhamya Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Quitman County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Miller County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.

Quitman County has already played their next match, a 67-30 loss against Terrell County on the 1st. As for Miller County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-56 defeat against Pelham on the 1st.
