Softball Recap: Almeta Crawford Sets Scoring Season-High Against Royal

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Almeta Crawford). They were the clear victors by a 26-8 margin over the Royal Falcons on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Maya Hanks was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kylie Remington was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Almeta Crawford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Almeta Crawford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Royal, they dropped their record down to 2-11-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
