Clovis and Carlsbad are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlsbad took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clovis, who comes in off a win.
Clovis not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 10, 2024 (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Lovington as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
Clovis' got stronger as the match went on, holding Lovington to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-5.

Clovis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brynn Petner out in front who had eight digs, seven kills, and one block. Petner is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Roberts, who had ten digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Carlsbad came up short against Goddard on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Cavemen/Cavegirls haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Carlsbad was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-9, 25-18.
Carlsbad's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Clovis, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Clovis skirted past Carlsbad 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavemen/Cavegirls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
