The Fairfield Prep Jesuits fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Xavier by a score of 30-17 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Fairfield Prep, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Fairfield Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Smith out in front who threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes. Fairfield Prep also got help from Finbar Malloy who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

Another reason for the win was Fairfield Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Mason Frey was the leader with two sacks.

Fairfield Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Xavier, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
