Baseball Game Preview: Spring Hill Raiders vs. Franklin Road Academy Panthers

The Spring Hill Raiders will square off against the Franklin Road Academy Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin Road Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring Hill, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Spring Hill sidestepped Warren County for a 4-2 victory.

Spring Hill got a great performance from Ethan Christie as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. Christie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Spring Hill's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Will McGlacken, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI McGlacken has posted since back in March. Another was William Bailey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin Road Academy took on Middle Tennessee Christian on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Panthers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Spring Hill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Franklin Road Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
