Volleyball Recap: Geneseo Comes Up Short

Geneseo suffered their biggest loss since October 15, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the York Golden Knights, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-21, 25-16.

Geneseo's offense was headlined by Lily McBride and Addy McDonald, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Kendall LaFleur and her ten assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Geneseo's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Geneseo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Keshequa on the 8th. As for York, they will head out on the road to face off against Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th. The matchup will give the Golden Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
