Game recap: Ridge High School Football Team takes down Westfield

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. - After swapping the lead two times, Ridge (Basking Ridge, N.J.) took the lead for the win when Liam Derkasch ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over Westfield (N.J.) 35-28.

The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 21. The Red Devils took the lead indefinitely on a Derkasch touchdown run in the third quarter.

Ridge led by as many as 14 points before the Blue Devils cut into the final margin.

The loss comes after Westfield defeated Scotch Plains-Fanwood 41-28 last week. The loss snapped Westfield's three-game winning streak.

Next week, WHS (5-4) will take on Plainfield in a non-conference game. The Cardinals enter the tilt sporting a 0-8 record for the season.
