Basketball Recap: Woodcrest Christian Comes Up Short

Woodcrest Christian played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Hemet Bulldogs, falling 80-46. The Royals have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Woodcrest Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Milton, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds, and Breck Wilson, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Hemet found their leader in sophomore Matthew Torres, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Alexander, who put up 13 points and three steals.

Woodcrest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Hemet, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Woodcrest Christian will take on Redlands Adventist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hemet, they will face off against La Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Hemet's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
