Baseball Recap: Loudon Takes a Loss

Loudon came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-2 to the Heritage Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat last Tuesday.

Logan Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Loudon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 10-16 when he doesn't).

Loudon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Heritage, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-10.

Loudon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage, they will face off against Apostolic Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Mountaineers' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Flames have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
