St. Elizabeth had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Northwest Mustangs on Monday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Gavin Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brady Kemna was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Eli Kemna was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

St. Elizabeth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

St. Elizabeth pushed their record up to 22-7 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9.

As of now, neither St. Elizabeth nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
