Baseball Recap: Gaylord Finds Home Field Redemption Against Sault Area

There's no place like home for Gaylord, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Sault Area on Friday as they made off with a 9-2 victory. Gaylord hasn't had any issues with Sault Area recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Brady Shepherd made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. Noah Vanderveer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games.
