Softball Game Preview: South Oldham Dragons vs. Jeffersonville Red Devils

The South Oldham Dragons will head out to challenge the Jeffersonville Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Oldham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

South Oldham's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Trimble County with a sharp 12-0 win. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Hailey Fackler, who gave up just five hits to keep Trimble County off the board. Fackler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addi Schrecker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Huber, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

South Oldham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Jeffersonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Charlestown, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered against the Pirates since May 18, 2015.

Jeffersonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Young, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Jeffersonville's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for South Oldham, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
