Derby took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-49 victory over the McPherson Bullpups. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Derby was led to victory by Avant Riley and Cale Clingan. Riley shot 54% from the field on his way to 21 points along with five assists and five boards, while Clingan almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Clingan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Channing Marshall, who posted eight points and six boards.

McPherson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Derby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-53 loss against Blue Valley Northwest on the 11th. As for McPherson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-32 defeat against Andover on the 12th.
