Softball Game Preview: FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers vs. St. John Paul II Panthers

FAMU DRS hasn't had much luck against St. John Paul II recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Baby Rattlers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. FAMU DRS has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

FAMU DRS is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Rickards, falling 18-3.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, St. John Paul II made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wewahitchka on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Gators.

AMANDA THOMPSON made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, D'NAE MOSSE was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. LANELL LOUIS was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. John Paul II kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wewahitchka only managed five hits.

St. John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for FAMU DRS, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
