Soccer Game Preview: Phoenix Academy vs. North Stokes

The Phoenix Academy Firebirds will head out to take on the North Stokes Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Academy has given up an average of 4.8 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Phoenix Academy is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight matches on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to Triad Math and Science Academy.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, North Stokes brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Everything went their way against South Davidson on Tuesday as they made off with a 4-1 victory. The contest marked North Stokes' most dominant win of the season.

They hit South Davidson with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mitchell Flinchum (2), Adrian Tynio, and Tyler Pederson.

Phoenix Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for North Stokes, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-9-2.

Phoenix Academy skirted past North Stokes 3-2 in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
