Basketball Recap: Hillsborough Takes a Loss

Hillsborough lost against Gaither back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hillsborough Terriers took a blow against the Gaither Cowboys, falling 73-42. The Terriers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gaither to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Humphries, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Hamilton, who had 12 points.

Hillsborough dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Gaither, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-10 record.

Hillsborough won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillsborough is facing Sumner at the right time seeing as Sumner is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gaither, they and King will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
