Baseball Recap: Henderson Warriors vs. Bishop Shanahan Eagles
Henderson lost against Bishop Shanahan back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Henderson got a good showing from Michael Miller, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Miller hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.
At the plate, Liam Schwinn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Sam Prior was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Henderson's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Bishop Shanahan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henderson will venture away from home to challenge Coatesville at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.8, the Red Raiders 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bishop Shanahan, they will head out on the road to face off against Malvern Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
