Baseball Recap: Malibu Takes a Loss

Malibu fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Nordhoff on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Nordhoff Rangers by a score of 4-3. The loss leaves the Sharks still looking for their first win of the season.

Sean Perl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Sparks Withrow also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Malibu's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Nordhoff, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

While Malibu had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
