Softball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

Memorial managed to slip by Liberty the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Memorial lost 19-2 to Liberty on Monday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Memorial and nudges their season record down to 8-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-6 Emerson (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.3% over those games). As for Liberty, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-3 victory against Frisco on the 26th. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next game, a 10-1 loss against Emerson on the 24th.
