Softball Recap: Mechanicsville Comes Up Short

Mechanicsville lost against Patrick Henry back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ella Hagen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Avery Howell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Mechanicsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Patrick Henry, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mechanicsville will host Varina at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Patrick Henry, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hermitage at 6:00 p.m. The Patriots are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
