The Paden Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Olive Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Paden took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over Leflore. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jax McNeill made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last two matches. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.
In other batting news, Paden got a massive performance out of Kanin Case, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Case a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Cheatwood, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Paden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Olive made easy work of Prue on Monday and carried off an 11-4 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Like Paden, Olive also got a great game from a two-way player: Bryer Maxville. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Maxville was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Dustyn Bruce was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Olive: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Ty Cleveland was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Paden's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Olive, their record now sits at 8-9.
