Football Recap: Killian Biles and Casey Von Schalscha Secure Win for Burney

Burney entered their tilt with Plumas Charter on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 26-20 W against the Warriors. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Burney to victory were Casey Von Schalscha and Killian Biles. Von Schalscha rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, while Biles gained 71 total yards and two touchdowns. Von Schalscha also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss). Liam Von Schalscha made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Burney's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Plumas Charter, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burney will welcome Hayfork at 6:00 p.m. on October 3. The Timberjacks' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Plumas Charter, they will be playing at home against Tulelake at 6:05 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season.
