Oregon and Winnebago are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hawks will welcome the Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oregon will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Oregon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Ashton-Franklin Center on Monday. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Raiders an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Oregon got a great performance from Emma Schlichtmann as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Schlichtmann a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Abree Barker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Oregon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashton-Franklin Center only posted a batting average of .062.
Stillman Valley hit Winnebago with a five-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Cardinals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Kyla Warkentien made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Oregon's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Winnebago, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oregon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Winnebago struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Oregon's way against Winnebago in their previous meeting on April 8th, as Oregon made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
