Softball Recap: Laney Gets the Win

Laney won the last time they faced North Brunswick and things went their way on Friday too. The Buccaneers came out on top against the Scorpions by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Makenly Horrell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Laney let Isabella Stevens and Barrett Price run wild. Stevens got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, while Price got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Laney's record now sits at 12-7. As for North Brunswick, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Laney nor North Brunswick have any future games scheduled.
