Baseball Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short

Wayne County fell victim to Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers, falling 8-0. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 11-4 to the Tigers when the teams met back in March of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wayne County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Stooksberry, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Wayne County and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

While Wayne County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
