Football Recap: Washington County Panthers vs. Eastern Wayne Warriors

Washington County has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 17 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of the Eastern Wayne Warriors. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Izeiah Oates was a one-man wrecking crew for Eastern Wayne as he threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Washington County will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pamlico County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Washington County is facing Pamlico County at the right time seeing as Pamlico County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. After each having a week off, Eastern Wayne and Princeton will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. Eastern Wayne's defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Princeton's offense will have their work cut out for them.
