Elkhorn Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against O'Neill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Elkhorn Valley has three straight victories, O'Neill has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Elkhorn Valley is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Madison: they outscored them in every quarter. The Falcons enjoyed a cozy 53-34 win over the Dragons on Tuesday.

Elkhorn Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Davis Rutjens out in front who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Logan Black, who put up four points in addition to 14 rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile, O'Neill had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Valentine, falling 65-43. The Eagles were down 55-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Elkhorn Valley will have to contain Turner Heiss as he made an impact in O'Neill's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Heiss is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Braxen Eichelberger was another key player, putting up eight points.

Elkhorn Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for O'Neill, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Elkhorn Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over O'Neill in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 59-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
