Softball Recap: Sipsey Valley Bears vs. Hillcrest Patriots
Sipsey Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Hillcrest Patriots, falling 12-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 back in February.
Katie Grace Lowery was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Keeley Kernop, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.
Sipsey Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Hillcrest, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Looking ahead, Sipsey Valley will face off against Tuscaloosa County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tuscaloosa County will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Sipsey Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hillcrest, they will head out to face off against Brookwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Hillcrest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
