Football Preview: Tascosa Rebels vs. Permian Panthers
The Tascosa Rebels will head out to square off against the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tascosa is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Tascosa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Lubbock-Cooper on Friday. They lost 27-7 to the Pirates. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Permian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Tascosa now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Permian, their record is now 3-0.
Tascosa was dealt a bruising 43-6 loss at the hands of Permian in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Thankfully for Tascosa, Issac Herrera (who rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
