Lugoff-Elgin had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spring Valley Vikings. The Demons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

One reason for the win was Lugoff-Elgin's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-11.

Haylee Roberts paced Lugoff-Elgin's offense, picking up 18 kills. Roberts got some help from Dannine Newton and her 26 assists. Roberts was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Loss or not, Spring Valley got some senior leadership from Malaya Dewey and Kennedy Newton. Dewey had 24 digs and one assist, while Newton had 12 assists and 11 digs.

Lugoff-Elgin's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Spring Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16-1.

Lugoff-Elgin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Greenwood on the 20th. As for Spring Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against West Florence on the 23rd.
