Baseball Recap: Covington-Douglas Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Drummond, Covington-Douglas was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Geary Bison a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Covington-Douglas pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Geary, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Covington-Douglas will head out to challenge Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Geary, they will challenge Riverside Indian at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th.
