Softball Game Preview: Potomac Senior Panthers vs. Alexandria City Titans

The Potomac Senior Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Alexandria City Titans at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. Potomac Senior's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Potomac Senior came up short against Charles J. Colgan on Thursday, falling 13-1.

Giana Diaz Perez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Alexandria City hadn't done well against Fairfax recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Titans skirted past the Lions 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted against the Lions since March 16, 2022.

Malia Cozier was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alli Goetz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Alexandria City's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Potomac Senior, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
