Baseball Recap: Crete Comes Up Short

Crete came into this matchup off a tough six-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Waverly Vikings by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Crete saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Everett Heath, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Crete's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Waverly, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Crete has already played their next contest, an 11-2 victory against Holdrege on the 25th. As for Waverly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Lincoln Southwest on the 25th.
