Softball Recap: Serena Comes Up Short

Serena has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.81 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the Morris Redskins, falling 10-0. The Huskers haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Serena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RayElle Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Serena's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Morris, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serena will square off against Amboy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskers are facing the Clippers at the right time seeing as the Clippers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Morris, they will face off against Herscher at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Redskins surely won't give up without a fight.
