Basketball Recap: Ellee Mobley and Leila Eastmead Secure Win for Edmund Burke Academy

Edmund Burke Academy won against Robert Toombs Christian Academy last Friday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans were the clear victor by a 55-32 margin over the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Edmund Burke Academy was led to victory by Leila Eastmead and Ellee Mobley. Eastmead almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals, while Mobley posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Eastmead is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Palmer, who had nine points.

The win (which was Edmund Burke Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 12-3. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Edmund Burke Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edmund Burke Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 169 points over their last three games. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they will take on Covenant Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
