Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will be taking part in a tournament against the Champaign Central Maroons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Champaign Central will be up against a hot Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg never let St. Anthony get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday.

Samantha Hayes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zaida Wascher was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Kendra Hayes was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Anthony only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Champaign Central entered their tilt with Richwoods on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Knights 15-0.
Like Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, Champaign Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Haley Helm. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Helm was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaila Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Bandy, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Champaign Central, their record is now 12-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Champaign Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts.
