It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Eureka ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fisher Bunnies 9-8. The win was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Eureka's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Fisher, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1.

Eureka didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-4 loss against Illini Bluffs on the 15th. As for Fisher, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 defeat against Salt Fork on the 15th.
