Basketball Recap: Bay Comes Up Short

Bay lost against Westlake back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bay Rockets fell 41-34 to the Westlake Demons. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Demons are ranked 165th).

Westlake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liana Ostrowski led the charge by putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Henton, who posted nine points and six boards.

Bay's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Westlake, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Coming up, Bay will take on Firelands at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
