Volleyball Game Preview: Ayersville Pilots vs. Wayne Trace Raiders

The Ayersville Pilots will head out to face off against the Wayne Trace Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne Trace took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Ayersville, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Ayersville made easy work of Antwerp and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Archers: they've now won four in a row.

While Ayersville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Sigler, who had 15 assists and seven digs. Annalee Weisgerber also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Meanwhile, Wayne Trace came up short against Fairview on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Apaches: they've now lost nine in a row.

The final score came out to 25-15, 20-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Ayersville's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Wayne Trace, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
