Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Academy Roadrunners vs. Latin Romans
Nazareth Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Latin Romans by a score of 2-1 on Monday. If the Roadrunners were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Romans when the teams met back in May of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by two points or less. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 26-24.
Jimmy Kleppetsch paced Nazareth Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Kleppetsch got some help from Hunter Creaney and his 17 assists. Finally, Kleppetsch was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
Nazareth Academy will host Berwyn/Cicero Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Latin, they will venture away from home to face off against Niles Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
