Volleyball Recap: Gibraltar Comes Up Short

Gibraltar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Roncalli Jets. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-16.

Aileen Torres paced Gibraltar's offense, picking up five kills. Torres got some help from Amelia Zoschke and her seven assists. Isla Fagundes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Gibraltar's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Roncalli, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-14.

Gibraltar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roncalli, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Lourdes on the 23rd.
